A Leader-project about culture making a difference

A turnaround transformation has begun. A new track for the future is being explored!

The village of Teckomatorp and its surroundings will be widely renowned for a vital and exciting cultural life, and as a place that attracts visitors from far-away because of its display of unique sculptures and other public art objects. From its bad history, Teckomatorp will rise, and a positive culture zone is born in a strategic location close to the major cities of the region. The Kulturzon is a project that wants to change people´s attitudes. The project wants to "culture" a positive image of Teckomatorp.

Background: It all begun in 2007 with the media-success of "Mother Cow", a large sculpture by Bernhard Lipsoe, displayed in conjunction with the strategic move of Galleri Tapper-Popermajer from Malmö to Teckomatorp. Since then, Teckomatorp has been the place for many exciting international art exhibitions.

In 2009, as a first manifestation of the culture zone project, a big lonely tree became a magic tree, a storytelling tree. The tree connected with its surroundings with colored fabric, sound, and lights. A storytelling cabin was part of the installation. The Magic Tree created a meeting place that was alive and it made people more curious about art. The project sent out positive signals regarding the future of Teckomatorp.
